Halloween Poster c. 2010
The Chalk Festival during its third season became the first international pavement art festival in the United States of America. Celebrated the theme 'Autumn and Halloween festivities' it opened over Halloween weekend in 2010. Over 100 artists participated turning the streets in Burns Square into a museum in motion using chalk as their medium and the road surface as their canvas. The festivities included 'Hallowscreen' a horror film festival, the largest pumpkin carving contest in Sarasota, a fashion runway show, live music and the largest display of 3D illusion pavement art in the world.
COMING UP THIS October 29 - November 1, 2021 the Chalk Festival will perform with the theme 'Spirited' during the Halloween weekend. Check out the events HERE.

"This was my first time painting on the ground, so I wanted it to be meaningful. I chose a poster from The Sarasota Chalk Festival from over ten years ago. This was America's first international street painting festival...with over 250 artists!"
