Brigitta Wagner-Sultana

Brigitta Wagner Sultana is a full time mother of two, wife, painter, graphic designer and creator of many things. Sultana’s creative career has spanned more than 20 years with the first eight years in New York, NY after graduating from Alfred University, NY with a BFA. New York City gave way to opportunities in fields such as Television (Good Morning America), Cosmetic package design and Direct-Mail catalogue design (Victoria’s Secret). After experiencing 9/11 in New York, Sultana moved to Sarasota, FL in 2002 and continued her graphic design career in real estate and then for SRQ Magazine. In 2007, Sultana left the office environment and freelanced from home while raising her children. At that time she was also represented by State of the Arts Gallery from 2007-2010.

In February 2019 Sultana placed third in Ringling College’s “Best of Ringling Continuing Studies Student Exhibition”.

Sultana’s work infuses many different mediums from painting, collage, encaustic and photo transfers incorporated with painting. Currently her work relies on geometric landscapes that play with shape and shadow either created by nature or landscapes she constructs herself.

Sultana continues to paint and do commission work as well as freelance in graphic design." I really wanted to be a part of making my mark as a local artist and participate in this project. My son and I were driving by and saw some artists painting and we stopped to visit with them. I loved the idea and really wanted to be a part of it. I painted a scene of a boat with a parasail because I wanted to touch on something more modern. I also chose this topic because the first and only time parasailing for me was with two special family friends that have since passed on. This is my tribute to them."
